ready to launch those rockets?????

Here is a diagram to help explain the design of the soda bottle rocket.  Everyone is allowed two 2-Liter pop bottles, tape, and water. 

There is one very important rule to remember......the main pop bottle is UPSIDE DOWN, and do NOT cut into it!!!!!!!!!!  (Any holes or cracks in the main bottle will make it impossible to reach the best pressure.)

The other pop bottle is used for making the nose cone and fins, and everything can be attached with duct tape.  Have fun with your design.  Can't wait to launch 'em!!!!

behold the catapult.....

Today was a lot of fun!!!!  We talked about free fall and projectiles and of course made catapults!!!!  Loved all the funny things the kids kept saying...they really surprised me with how much they already knew about gravity. 

Next week we'll talk about momentum, have an egg drop competition and start building soda bottle rockets.......woohoo!!!!  There's still room for a couple more students if you need to sign up.
